Vaccine Inequity Governor Cuomo announced today that in conjunction with the federal government and with the assistance of FEMA, two mass-vaccination sites will be opened in socially vulnerable communities: one at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn and the second at York College in Queens. Vaccine Changes for New York State Today, Governor Cuomo announced the federal government will increase the state’s vaccine allocation by an additional 5%, which is expected to last three weeks. In addition, the federal government will direct additional vaccines to sites that currently act as federally qualified community health centers. New Vaccination Eligibility Begins on Sunday, February 14 Governor Andrew Cuomo today announced that New Yorkers with comorbidities and underlying conditions can make appointments at State-run mass vaccination sites beginning Sunday, February 14th.  The first of these appointments can be scheduled for Monday, February 15th. Local health departments will determine how, where and when to schedule appointments in their jurisdictions. The Governor stipulated that no local jurisdiction should accept appointments until vaccine allocations are known, and no earlier than February 14th.   To [...]

State Vaccination Allocation Increases Today, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the weekly supply of vaccines that are allocated to New York State from the federal government will now be increased by 20% over what we were getting at the start of the year. Marriage Receptions  With the continued drop in the state passivity rate, today Governor Cuomo announced that beginning March 15 marriage receptions can return under new parameters.   COVID-19 Transmission Rates Improving During today’s COVID-19 briefing, Governor Cuomo announced that New York State's rate of transmission (Rt) has dropped below 1.0. The Wrap Up – January 22, 2021

Vaccine Update This afternoon, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the State would run out of COVID-19 vaccines today. At the State’s current vaccine administration rate of 80,000 shots given per day, the remaining 28,246 that it has on hand will be gone by midday.
