Gillian Hamilton

As Government Affairs Associate, Gillian supports clients’ legislative, regulatory, and procurement priorities through policy research and strategy.

Before joining Statewide, Gillian served as a Digital Producer at the Times Union in Albany, where she wrote and edited news content, managed content engagement, and contributed to social media and newsletter strategies. She led the Women@Work newsletter and other community-focused campaigns.

In 2022, Gillian worked as a Capitol Reporter for New York StateWatch, covering the State Legislature and Executive Chamber. She possesses a comprehensive understanding of the policymaking process and policy development, along with expertise in research and data analysis.

Raised in the Capital Region, Gillian currently resides in Albany. She is an active member of the Junior League of Albany, where she focuses on hands-on efforts to create positive impacts in her community.

Gillian holds a B.A. in Journalism from SUNY New Paltz and a B.A. in Economics from the University at Albany, SUNY. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Economics at UAlbany, and is expected to complete her degree May 2025.
