Phase Two Expanding

Today Governor Cuomo stated that the Mid-Hudson Region comprised of Westchester, Rockland, and the Hudson Valley areas should be eligible for reopening next week Tuesday June 9th, with the Long Island region following the next day, Wednesday, June 10th.

The Governor also indicated that the New York City region is still on pace to enter into Phase One next week Monday, barring any major statistical uptick in the infection rate, possibly in relation to the mass gatherings associated with the recent protests. In concert with this possibility the State is now expanding testing criteria to include any individual who attended any of the recent protests across the State.

Phase Two – Outdoor Dining

With all remaining regions outside of New York City presumably having entered into Phase Two by the middle of next week, the State has issued Interim Guidance for Outdoor and Take-Out/Delivery Food Services During the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency.

Looting-Related Insurance Claims

The Governor announced that he is directing insurers to begin expediting the claims for damaged and looted businesses. Additionally they are to provide free mediation of disputes and begin accepting photos as reasonable proof of loss so there is no need for businesses to wait on official police reports to begin processing their claims.

New York State COVID-19 Numbers

Thankfully, we are now firmly on the far side of the COVID-19 plateau in New York State. That said, the number of deaths in the State has increased by 52 since yesterday.
